DanceSport Europe together with the organizers of the International Dance Festival held 12.11.2016 in Usti nad Labem, the Czech Republic, presented a new team project based on historical roots of cooperation and friendship among the four countries of the Central European region, known as the Visegrad Group or simply V4.
Eva Bartunkova, the general secretary of DSE, in her opening speech thanked Czech DanceSport Federation and Petr Barnat, the director of the Festival not only for hosting the event but also for the idea to combine the history with a friendly match in DanceSport.
The teams consisting of Junior and Adult couples in Standard and Latin from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary put together all their energy to show the best of their dancing to the warm and supportive audience and for the cameras of the Czech Television Sport Channel. Finally, the title of V4 DanceSport team champions went to Poland (STD Adult: Marek Szulgo-Renata Schodnik; LAT Adult: Adam Fedko-Joanna Dabrowska; STD Jun: Matthew Krupa – Nicole Billings; LAT Jun: Adam Bednarz-Wiktoria Lassak), followed by Slovakia winning a silver trophy, the Czech Republic on the third place, ended up also with a great performance of the Hungarian team.
DanceSport cordially invites all European countries to the second edition of the DSE European Championship of National Teams which will be held on Sunday, April 16th in Cambrils, Spain. More detailed information will be released as soon as possible.
