DSE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The DanceSport Europe (DSE) Annual General Meeting successfully brought together delegates from 21 European countries in
the heart of Rome, Italy, on Friday, 12 June.
The Assembly welcomed the distinguished presence of the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) leadership, including
President Mr. Shawn Tay, Vice President for Sport Mr. Nenad Jeftic, and WDSF General Secretary Mr. Sergey Nifontov,
alongside representatives from National Member Federations.
A special address was delivered by WDSF President Shawn Tay, who emphasized the vital importance of unity within the
DanceSport community and the continued cooperation between the WDSF and DSE. He also highlighted the strategic
importance of strengthening training programs and educational initiatives throughout Europe.
The meeting was chaired by the President of DSE, Mr. Robert

Assembly Procedures
The General Assembly confirmed the legality of the convocation procedure, appointed the official secretary, minutes keeper,
and scrutineers, and verified both the quorum and voting rights.
Furthermore, the Assembly approved the meeting agenda and the minutes of the 2025 DSE AGM. All official reports were
approved, receiving strong support from the Assembly.
The financial management during 2025 was conducted in a transparent and responsible manner. Despite the recorded deficit,
the financial auditors confirmed that DSE maintains a stable and sustainable financial position.
Action Plan 2027
The Assembly officially approved the Strategic Action Plan 2027, which is built upon three major pillars:
1. European Children Grand Prix
The continuation and further development of the established DSE Grand Prix projects.
2. DSE Team Challenge Cup
The further development of the Team Challenge Cup concept and the expansion of its related activities.
3. DanceSport Connect: United Through Movement
As part of the approved Action Plan, Mr. Kris Spaho, Commissioner within DSE, unveiled DanceSport Connect, an ambitious
flagship initiative set to shape the future of DanceSport through 2032.
Built around the pillars of competition, community, and education, the platform creates a connected ecosystem for athletes
across Europe. At its heart is the DanceSport College, offering free educational programs to Juvenile and Junior athletes,
empowering the next generation both on and off the dance floor.
A pioneering feature of the project is its Academic Recognition System. Launching with the first ranking events in Albania
(September 2026) and North Macedonia (December 2026), athletes will register their schools or universities, enabling DSE to
award official certificates that recognize and celebrate educational institutions supporting young dancers.
By bridging sport and education, DanceSport Connect elevates the status of DanceSport within academic communities and
strengthens its impact across Europe—truly uniting people through movement.

Recognized as DSE Ranking Competitions

A Landmark Opportunity for the Next Generation
The 2026 WDSF DanceSport Festival in Blackpool once again brings the global DanceSport community together at one of the most iconic venues in the history of our sport – the Winter Gardens.
This year marks an important and inspiring development in the festival’s competitive programme. For the first time, the Juvenile, Junior I and Junior II categories are officially included in the daily competition schedule. This step reflects a forward-looking vision and a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of DanceSport athletes.
Dance Sport Europe fully supports and welcomes the participation of young competitors in this prestigious festival. Blackpool is not merely a competition – it is part of the worldwide heritage of DanceSport. To step onto the floor of the legendary Empress Ballroom, accompanied by the distinguished Empress Orchestra, is an experience that shapes character, performance quality and artistic maturity.
For young dancers, competing in such an atmosphere is transformative. The history, the music, the elegance of the setting and the standard of excellence create an environment that elevates ambition and deepens understanding of the values that define our sport.
As an organisation bearing significant responsibility for the development of Juvenile and Junior athletes in both Latin and Standard disciplines, Dance Sport Europe places strong emphasis on supporting opportunities that contribute to their growth. Working in close and constructive collaboration with WDSF, Dance Sport Europe will officially recognize the participation of its athletes in the 2026 WDSF DanceSport Festival. https://www.dancesporteurope.org/calendar/
Furthermore, all points earned by Dance Sport Europe athletes in the respective categories during the festival will be counted towards the official Dance Sport Europe Ranking List.
This initiative reinforces a shared commitment: to invest in youth, to preserve tradition, and to ensure that the future of DanceSport is built upon both excellence and heritage.
The 2026 WDSF DanceSport Festival in Blackpool promises not only world-class competition, but a defining experience for the young generation who will carry our sport forward.
